This is a really hazardous crossing point, with vehicles able to take this junction at speed. No reason to have left and right turn lanes on the other arm of the junction, so I suggest this side is stopped up to create a continuous footway across. Possibility even to improve public space here- reinstate the old pant (fountain)?
