[UPDATE: #193460] [Image taken 2.8.21] Dragon Road car park, Harrogate. The Dragon Cycleway (leads to/from the Nidderdale Greenway) runs between the ‘Exhibition Traffic Control Office’ – actually a tiny hut – and Grove Park View/Grove Park Avenue. It’s a key link for local people visiting Asda, the town centre, heading to from the rail station, and tourists as it links Harrogate with Starbeck, Ripley and Knaresborough on motor traffic-free routes. But it goes through this car park (and the next one - Asda). Pre-covid I reported these gratings with their parallel bars as being unsafe and inappropriate for a being on a route that people cycle, scoot, push buggies and wheelchair along, and next to the designated 'people' path, but got nowhere. With Woodfield Road, Bilton (just over the ‘iron bridge’ at the GPV/GPA end due to be redesignated a 20mph area this month (www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/education/ps20000-grant-will-provide-improved-road-safety-measures-harrogate-primary-school-3035458), active travel should increase. So I’ll try again. Same issue here see also: #173016 and #173017. Example from York: the problem: #166146, the solution #169138. Other issues in Bilton today see: #173018, #173019.
