Stoneygate Lane from Duke of Cumberland down to Akzo Nobel/Nest Road

This road needs both a cycle lane AND resurfacing. There are a number of pot holes that are Ok in a car but if you go over on a bike really hurt your bum and damage bike wheels - try it and find out.

There are a lot of parked cars between the Metro/Rail bridge and the Felling Bypass Bridge at times which makes it dangerous with cars flying past you.

Another reason is that wagons and lorries use this route: combined with roads connecting to the bypass this is a very dangerous area.

The reason I am putting this road down as needing improvement is that Stoneygate Lane connects cycle lanes from Sunderland Road to a cycle path on Nest Road which then takes you down to the River Tyne and along to Newcastle City centre.

Thanks for your time, and I really hope you read this. Like I said try yourself cycling down Stoneygate Lane (I live nearby and will happily join to discuss) and I am certain you will understand why this is important.
Your faithfully
Graham Jolly
